5th Annual Sierra’s Race Against Meningitis to be Held June 2nd 2012
Loveland, Colorado March 9, 2011—Sierra’s Race Against Meningitis is excited to announce the 5th annual 5K race to spread awareness and help prevent bacterial meningitis. While the race has previously been held in April, this year, the race will take place in the warmer Colorado weather on June 2nd, 2012.
Sierra’s Race Against Meningitis (SRAM), an organization committed to preventing bacterial meningitis in loving memory of Sierra Krizman, is gearing up for their 5th annual 5K run/walk and kids fun run. This year, in an effort to have a warmer race and encourage more corporate teams, SRAM has moved this annual event from April to June.
With the race continuously growing every year, SRAM has become one of the largest 5K races in Northern Colorado and hopes to continue to grow for years to come. Lisa Krizman, Sierra’s mom and one of the founders of SRAM, says that moving the race to June should encourage more people to participate.
“We hope that the change in race date will encourage even more people to come out and support our cause. In the past, we have been faced with rain, snow and bitter cold temperatures. By moving the race to June 2nd, we are expecting much nicer weather”.
The race will be held Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 at 9:00 am. The race begins at Crossroads Church located at 5420 N. Taft Ave in Loveland, Colorado. Each Participant has a chance to win an all-inclusive, 5 night stay at the Riu Palace Riviera Mia, Mexico from Apple Vacations (“America’s Favorite Vacation Company”) and Bon Voyage Travel -along with other great prizes!! There are also cash prizes for overall male and overall female winners, as well as a cash prize for beating the Colorado 5K record and the Sierra’s 5K record.
