DJ Matthew A

Matthew discovered DJing the way the best DJs do: spinning college parties and seeing how the right song at the right moment could change a whole room. He’s been behind the decks since 2016 and hasn’t stopped chasing that feeling since.

Originally from Washington, D.C., Matthew has spent more than a decade hosting weddings, private events, bar nights, raves, and karaoke in D.C. and Seattle. That range shows in how he works. He reads a crowd fast, adjusts on the fly, and keeps the dance floor moving from the first song to the last call. On the mic he’s confident, polished, and full of energy. He handles announcements, keeps the timeline on track, and builds hype without taking over the spotlight.

Weddings, receptions, and private events are where Matthew shines. He works closely with planners and venue staff so every introduction, toast, and first dance lands right on cue, and he brings a show-must-go-on mindset that keeps your night running smoothly no matter what. His full-time career in data engineering adds an organized, detail-focused approach to every event he plans.

Ask Matthew what’s in his headphones and you’ll hear about post-disco, alternative R&B, and sophisti-pop. He’s a true crate digger who loves tracking down underground and forgotten gems, and that deep music knowledge means he always has the perfect next song ready. When it’s time to pack the floor, he goes to proven hits like “Yeah!” and “Uptown Funk.”

For Matthew, the best part of the job is seeing the whole room come together on the dance floor and knowing he helped make the night unforgettable. When he’s not DJing, he plays fingerstyle guitar and piano and spends time with his cat and dog.

Book Matthew and the party takes care of itself.
